Jay Vasquez likes to draw pop culture icons that are heavily influenced by Asian Culture. Aside from drawing, Jay is also into photography and likes to take pictures that are inspired by Edward Hopper’s work. Jay has done freelance projects including making cover albums for indie music artists, character designing, digital illustrations for corporate companies, and comic book illustrations. Kristoffer Brasileño is an independent studio artist and university instructor at the Digital Media and Interactive Arts Program of Central Philippine University and Bachelor of Fine Arts Program of University of San Agustin. Recently, he mounted his second solo show at the NCCA Gallery entitled Ilonggo Republic. Brasileño combines traditional and digital media in his art practice to create realistic and representational paintings and illustrations. Clark was awarded Excellence in Community Engagement (Ten Outstanding Youth Organizations) and Excellence in the Field of Research as a recipient of the Young SouthEast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI). His artwork revolves around creating surrealistic representations of imagined possibilities in science fiction, mythology, technology, and nature. He was one of the teachers at the Balay Turun-an, a School for Living Traditions in Brgy. Garangan, Calinog. In 2004, he won the Indigenous Leadership Award given by the National Commission for Culture in the Arts for preserving the Panay Bukidnun culture. She is an honoree of The Many Faces of the Teacher (TMFT) and was recognized in the Tribute to Teachers (T2T) in 2014. She was invited to many conferences to speak about her work and advocacy. She is currently writing a glossary of Sugidanun, Panay Bukidnun customary laws and other Indigenous Knowledge System Practices and Spiritualities (IKSPs). She has written Indigenous Lesson Plans, Learning Activity Sheets and Big Books  (2016-present), contributed to Panaysayon (2018), written and translated from archaic to contemporary Kinaray-a the last episode of the Epics of Panay (2018-2019) project, contributed to the University of the Philippines Visayas ‘ Philippine Journal of Social Sciences (2019), contributed to the Reading the Regions 2 Philippine Folk and Oral Traditions (2021). She is involved in Collaborative Module and Materials Making by IP scholars and Balay Patawili Inc., which received the NCCA grant in May 2018-2020. An overall coordinator of GUBAN Tapaz Pan-ay Bukidnon, School of Living Tradition, a project funded by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (2011). She has received awards from the following:15th Gawad Geny Lopez Jr., Bayaning Pilipino Awards, Regional Level Teacher’s Category, ABS-CBN Corporation and UGAT (2019),  BERF-DepEd Regional Level Outstanding Researcher (2019), Outstanding Calinognon 2018, The Many Faces of the Teacher 2017, National Category, Bato Balani Foundation Inc. and DIWA Learning System, Outstanding IPEd Teacher, Capiz Division 2017;2016 Capiz Gawad Parangal. While her interests range from children’s illustration to creative writing, she is on an artistic hiatus at the moment, trying to break free from years of creative block. Christian Talaguit is a graduate of DLSU’s AB-History program. His academic specialty includes pre-colonial Bisayan customs and folklore and Panay-Bukidnon ethnography. He currently works as a co-researcher for the project and a co-translator of the late Leopoldo “Tay Polding” Caballero’s unpublished Sugidanon notes in English and Tagalog.
